Pupils who attend their district school but who live at a distance of 2 miles or more from the school, receive a bus pass for public transport or for a contract bus arranged by the Authority. Consideration may be given to providing free transport in special circumstances, for example, where the pupil is permanently or temporarily disabled in some way, or where there are particular hazards in the journey to and from school. In all special cases application should, in the first instance, be made to the school office. If a pupil should miss their bus at close of school they must report to the school office and arrangements will be made to get them home.
