S1 course overview

Term 1
In term 1 they have 14 weeks of tuned percussion and basic rhythm and notation etc. They also have 3 weeks of Christmas music.

Term 2
In term two they have six weeks of Electronic Keyboard and six weeks of Recorder.

Term 3
In term three they have six weeks of keyboard – composing crazy - and six weeks of Guitar.

S2 course Overview

Term 1
In term 1 the second years have nine week of Performing Arrangements Improvising/Inventing. Six weeks of Electronic keyboard. They also have 3 weeks of Christmas music.

Term 2
They have 4 weeks of Guitar, Recorder and Sound Engineering.

Term 3
They have three weeks of Inventing (Arranging) and three week of Performing Elective.

Standard Grade

At the moment, a standard grade course exists in the 3rd and 4th years. It is envisaged that this, in time, will be replaced with the National Qualifications courses.

We present at Foundation, General and Credit levels – with all three levels very often being contained in one class.

Where possible, we stream classes into Foundation/General and General/Credit.
