Welcome to the English departmental webpages.

The English curriculum aims to develop the core skills of reading, writing, talking and listening. Each year group studies a broad range of literature and non-fiction, including prose (short stories and novlels), poetry, drama, Scottish texts and literature from other cultures.

The department is well resourced with a wide range of traditional and contemporary texts and textbooks suited to all ages, abilities and interests.

The English department is situated on the first floor of the school where we occupy eight classrooms. English teaching and learning also takes place in the Resource Centre and computer room, which offer Successmaker to some of our Lower School classes.
