S1 and S2

As the Physics department but shared with Biology and Physics.

S3 and S4

Pupils can choose to study chemistry from two routes:
Standard Grade Chemistry
The course consists of 15 topics, plus some additional work on calculations.
Students also complete a number of practcal assessments, and two investigations which contribute to the final mark.

Students who achieve a general grade can continue the subject by studying Intermediate 2 in 5th year, and progressing to Higher in Sixth year. Those who achieve a Credit grade can progress straight to Higher in Fifth year.
