Union Canal Museum

Linlithgow Union Canal Society was formed in 1975 to restore and use the Union Canal in the Linlithgow area. The Society has a Canal Museum and offers boat trips. The Museum is housed in a former Canal stable and exhibits Canal records, photographs and artifacts.The display covers the development of the British Canal System.Sections show the Canal at work, the water system and wildlife as well as present uses.

Two miles south of Linlithgow, and north east of Torphichen. Thereare large car and bus parking areas with a total capacity of470 vehicles. There is parking at the Park Centre, Balvormie,Cockleroy, and Lochside.

Charges

Easter to September Saturday and Sunday 2pm - 5pm Others by arrangement Target groups Primary pupils Charges School parties(Tuesday, Wednesday) must be one adult (no charge) per 12 children.Charge 75p per child and £1 per additional adult.Includes visit to Museum, boat trip, free worksheet. No deposit required. Further information Services Museum Attendant and audiovisual presentation. Boat trip (included in visit).
