Religious and Moral Education
Religious and Moral Education is on going in every primary classroom. We aim to make each child aware of his uniqueness and yet to realise his responsibility to others within the context of the classroom, the school, the home, the community and the wider world. We try to help children to have a deeper understanding of their own emotions such as love, happiness and sorrow and the need to share these emotions with people. Knowledge of Christianity includes the Judaeo-Christian Heritage, the life and teaching of Christ and the growth of the church to modern times.
Tolerance, acceptance and an understanding of the other main religions of the world is part of our Religious Education Policy.
We have regular assemblies which often contain a religious or moral theme. Our School Chaplain works in classrooms giving advice on particular issues. The children benefit greatly from this form of integration.
We respect the religious beliefs of children and their families and if parents wish to find out more about our Religious Education Policy we will be more than happy to discuss this further. Parents have the right to withdraw their child from this subject. The children will be provided with alternative work and supervised in another room for the duration of the lesson.
All of the children attend a church service at the end of
